When Lora and Damien first contacted me and said that they would be holding their marriage ceremony in Adelaide at Henley Beach I was hoping that it would be around sunset and that we would be able to take advantage of the beautiful soft golden light that we generally get at that time of the day. When she said that it would be I was very excited and we organised to get together a few weeks prior to her Wedding Day and discuss the type of photography that she wanted and to look for the best photo opportunities. After a lovely ceremony on the lawns at Henley Square I could see that it was getting close to that magical time of the day and suggested that we go for a walk along the beach and take advantage of the light... Lora was very accommodating in agreeing to take her shoes off and walk along the sand and get her feet wet (and her wedding dress) but as you can see it was definitely worth the effort. It was great fun to have their girls along as well and they really got into the spirit of it all to make it a great family event. One of my favourite shots of this lovely couple and their family together celebrating their beautiful Adelaide Wedding.

Teneale and Jarrads wedding day was very relaxed one with a lovely casual vibe around the whole day. With all of their friends and family together this was always going to be a wonderful celebration of their love for one another. Their beautiful ceremony was held at the Wynn Vale Rose Garden where we also photographed the bridal party and all their friends and family. With their three children running around enjoying the day we had to work hard to get the family photos but it was all worth it in the end! Love this portrait photo of our beautiful bride Teneale. The father of the bride and his daughter walking down the aisle... There was no way he was going to share those snakes with his sisters:) Daddy`s girl..

24/8/2018 0 Comments behind the lens | weddings |When you capture a wedding what part of the day is the most special?
For me one of the most special parts of the day is when the groom sees his wife to be for the first time as she walks down the aisle, this is always a great photo opportunity and can capture real emotion from the groom. Talk us through being a part of the wedding, from when you meet with a couple from the enquiry stage through to the day. I have booked weddings without having met the couple previously but I do recommend if possible that we meet up before making any booking. These meetings are just a very relaxed chat over a coffee with no pressure at all and gives us a chance to discuss the type of photos that you are looking for and how the day is going to run. I feel that it is important that we get to know each other a little and that you are comfortable with us because we are going to be spending a lot of time together on the day and if we get along well it will be reflected in the photos on the day. Once you have booked us for your wedding then we get stuck into the details of where we need to be and at what time…I will also go to the church and to wherever we will be doing the bride and groom and bridal party photos prior to the day to find the best photo opportunities. This is an important part of my job as it helps the whole process to flow smoothly and is less stressful for everyone involved if I already have a plan of what we are doing and where. From there it is a matter of counting down until the big day and helping out wherever I can with any other issues that may arise, I do make contact with other suppliers to introduce myself which I think is a nice touch especially if you are having a videographer, again very important because we will be working closely on the day and the celebrant to discuss the ceremony. Once you’ve been a part of such an important day, do you keep in touch? It`s a funny thing about photographing a wedding, we may have several meetings before the big day and then we may spend 8 or 10 hours together (or more) on the day and I do feel that we become friends but once I have delivered your photos that story is over but it's lovely to know that as their new family grows I can be there for christenings, birthdays and anniversary celebrations! What is your favourite memory from a wedding you have shot? I was recently contacted by a couple to photograph their wedding in McLaren Vale, it was just a small and intimate ceremony with the couples parents invited to come to Australia from England to visit but they didn’t know that it was to be to attend their Wedding, the looks on their faces was priceless! View our wedding photography captured in Adelaide here What is it about photography that made you decide you’d like to do it as a business?
I was given a camera for my 10th birthday and from that moment on I was hooked and I carried that camera with me everywhere and was forever pestering everyone and anyone to let me photograph them. Over the years as my photography developed I found that I was being asked to photograph friends and family events and then my first wedding and it got to the point that I thought perhaps we can make a living out of this and Mezzino Photography was born. What’s the best part of capturing a special event? The best part of capturing a special event is the fact that I am creating wonderful memories for people and recording moments in time that will never happen again, our clients will be able to look back over the years and remember that particular day with great fondness and those memories will come flooding back all over again. What do you look forward to most when working with your clients? We get to meet so many people from all different walks of life and it is always fun to get to know a little about our clients, everybody has different ideas about how they would like us to photograph their event and we are always learning something that perhaps we can incorporate into our next shoot. Your wife Gina helps you out at times, some people say working with your partner is challenging, would you agree or has it bought you closer together? We work together well on a shoot, it is always good to get a different perspective to what I am seeing and Gina brings ideas from a female point of view that I may not see. Of course there are always challenges but overall it has bought us closer together. What do you look forward to most as you grow this business? I am always looking to improve how the business runs and to improve my skills as a photographer so I look forward to seeing how both of those aspects are going to change over the years. This charity is about raising funds for people suffering from EB, Epidermolysis Bullosa is a rare disease whereby the skin blisters and peels at the slightest touch. Living with EB has been likened to living with third degree burns. It is very painful, and sufferers must be bandaged every day with dressings to protect and medicate their wounds. Why is it important to you? Back in 2016 I saw a notification about The Cotton Ball that was to be held later in the year, at the Adelaide Convention Centre. I didn’t know anything about EB and did a little research and soon realised what a horrible disease it is and just wanted to get involved and help out if I could so I contacted the organisers and offered our services and they accepted, they are holding another ball this year at The Convention Centre and we were very happy to be asked again to help out and immediately said yes. Photos of the 2016 Cotton Ball can been seen here ;) Tell us about their ball and the vibe on the night? The Ball is a real buzz to be involved in, it is a fun night of eating and drinking with special guests and lots of entertainment and money raising but the real meaning of the night is not lost on the hundreds of guests and that is to raise money to support sufferers of this debilitating disease. Why do you love being involved? I love being involved because it gives me a feeling of helping and supporting those less fortunate that myself, albeit in a small way. 31/7/2018 0 Comments Our Thailand TripThailand ~ What a wonderful place to visit.... friendly people, fabulous food, plenty to see and lots of sun....shorts and t-shirt weather for two weeks in the middle of our winter; was just the tonic we needed to get us through. If you haven`t been to Thailand before and you have the opportunity to go I would say do it and it would be a great honeymoon location. We stayed at the Sheraton Resort in Hua Hin and I cannot say enough good things about the people, the food, the culture and the warm weather. I hope you enjoy these photos and be sure to visit us on Instagram @mezzino_photography to see many more :) The Grand Palace was built in 1782 and for 150 years was the home of the Thai King, it`s fabulous architecture and the attention to detail has to be seen to be believed. Damnoen Saduak`s floating market.....talk about organised chaos :) People and boats everywhere and everything from spices to wooden frogs for sale, lots of fun to be had haggling with the locals. The Khao Luang underground cave, a magical place of worship and a welcome relief from the extreme heat and humidity. Khao Wang, locally known as the Palace on the hill, a Royal residence built over 160 years ago, unfortunately we were not allowed to photograph it inside but there were plenty of photo opportunities on the outside.

Mark captured amazing photos of our daughters baptism over the weekend and we couldn’t be happier!
He is friendly, professional, patient (which is extremely important if you have children) and easy to work with.
The quality of photos are great and his turn around time was fantastic, the next day!
Mark has been our photographer for a number of events, we highly recommend him!
Thanks again Mark, see you at our next event.
